About the Ohio Financial Services Association

The Ohio Financial Services Association was established in 1915 . With over 100-years of consumer focused, community-based lending and helping millions of consumers in the state, we are the largest non-depository personal lenders in Ohio with a track record of helping consumers find access to affordable credit. While we serve a wide range of borrowers, our typical customers are hard-working Ohioans working in the healthcare, manufacturing, education, and government industries, among many others.

The OFSA is the trade association for the consumer credit industry in Ohio and serves its members as a voice in Columbus, navigating issue management and provide policy advice for members. OFSA helps with the industry on a broad range of public policy issues impacting consumer installment lenders in the state. OFSA offers many member benefits, including being a voice for the industry at the Statehouse and with regulators; putting on conferences and board meetings; offering updates and newsletters; and managing state legislative and regulatory issues for members.

OFSA members are licensed, supervised, and actively examined by the Division of Financial Institutions within the Ohio Department of Commerce. We are also subject to a lengthy list of state and federal laws and regulations. OFSA members take great pride in responsible lending and spend a great deal of time and resources on compliance with state and federal laws and responding to examinations by our regulators.
